🇧🇯 Benin Visa

Dear visitors, on this page you can find the updated 2025 information regarding Benin visa procedures.

📌 Does Benin Require a Visa?

Turkish citizens holding Ordinary (bordo), Special (green), and Service (grey) passports are required to obtain a visa in order to travel to Benin. Holders of Diplomatic (black) passports are exempt from visas for trips not exceeding 90 days. To make the application process easier, the Beninese authorities have introduced the e-visa system. Thanks to this system, Turkish citizens can complete their visa procedures online without needing to visit the consulate.

🌐 Benin E-Visa

Benin visa applications are made exclusively through the online e-visa system. The process is very straightforward; applicants only need to send a scanned copy of the biographical page of their passport along with their confirmed travel dates by e-mail. Once approved, the e-visa is sent directly to the applicant’s e-mail address.

Benin e-visas can be obtained as a single-entry 30-day visa, a multiple-entry 30-day visa, or a multiple-entry 90-day visa. Preparing the application correctly and submitting accurate information is crucial to ensure that the process runs smoothly.

📝 Benin Visa Types

The most frequently requested visa type for Benin is the tourist visa. Although Benin has a relatively small tourism industry, its natural environment and cultural heritage make it an attractive destination. One of the main advantages of the tourist visa is that it can be obtained without the need for an invitation letter.

Another common type is the business visa, used for business meetings, trade activities, or participation in fairs. A less frequently requested option is the transit visa, required for travelers who will be passing through Benin en route to another country. Applicants should determine the purpose of their trip in advance and apply for the appropriate visa type.

📌 Required Documents for a Benin Visa

To apply for a Benin e-visa, applicants must hold a valid passport. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the intended date of entry into Benin. For the application, it is sufficient to provide a scanned copy of the passport’s data page along with confirmed travel dates.

🕒 When Should You Apply for a Benin Visa?

Benin e-visa applications are usually processed within 1 business day. However, to avoid any potential delays, it is recommended to submit your application at least 5–7 days before your planned travel date. Applications may be submitted up to 90 days prior to the intended date of travel.

💳 Benin Visa Fee 2025

The fees for Benin e-visas in 2025 vary depending on the type of visa (single-entry or multiple-entry) and the duration of stay. Fees include both the consular fee and the service fee. Please note that visa and service fees are non-refundable in the event of a refusal.

⚠️ Important Notes About the Benin Visa

There is no need to be physically present at the consulate during the visa process. All procedures are carried out online, and the approved visa is sent to the applicant via e-mail. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the visa’s expiry date.

Decisions regarding Benin visa applications are entirely at the discretion of the Beninese diplomatic authorities. Holding an e-visa does not automatically guarantee entry into the country. Immigration officers at the point of entry reserve the right to deny admission if the traveler does not meet immigration requirements or if their presence in Benin is considered contrary to national interests or security.
