🇨🇻 Cape Verde Visa Procedures

Dear visitors, welcome.

Known in Turkish as the Green Cape Islands, Cape Verde is referred to as the Caribbean of Africa due to its beaches. There is no visa exemption agreement between Cape Verde and the Republic of Türkiye. Therefore, holders of Diplomatic (Black), Special (Green), Service (Gray) and Ordinary (Bordeaux) passports who wish to travel to Cape Verde for tourism or business purposes are required to obtain a visa.

📌 How to Get a Cape Verde Visa?

The most authorized foreign representation of the Republic of Cape Verde in Türkiye is the Honorary Consulate of Cape Verde in Istanbul. Since this representation does not have diplomatic authority, it does not provide services related to visa applications. Those who wish to obtain a Cape Verde visa can apply through Cape Verde foreign representations in countries such as Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Senegal or through the Embassy in Dakar.

Visa applications can also be made through authorized agencies. During the application, it is important to provide accurate information, prepare documents completely, and ensure they are up-to-date.

🛬 Cape Verde Visa on Arrival

Cape Verde also offers a Visa on Arrival option. Turkish citizens traveling to Cape Verde can obtain their visas upon entry at Cape Verde airports. A fee of 25 Euros must be paid for the Cape Verde Visa on Arrival.

📝 Cape Verde Visa Application Form

The first step in applying for a Cape Verde visa is completing the visa application form. This form must be filled out in English, legibly, and with accurate information. It includes details such as your personal information, travel dates, accommodation address, travel purpose, and visa type. Providing false or incomplete information may result in a negative outcome. The application form must be signed and added to the application file.

📑 Required Documents for Cape Verde Visa

The required documents for a Cape Verde visa vary depending on the applicant’s occupational status and the purpose of travel. In general, the documents requested are as follows:

A passport valid for at least 6 months from the end of the trip and its photocopy, 2 biometric photos with a white background, hotel and flight reservations, bank statements proving sufficient funds for the trip, an invitation letter from a company in Cape Verde for business visa applications, an invitation letter for family visit visa applications, a company letter for employees, yellow fever vaccination certificate, and international health insurance. Consular officers may request additional documents if deemed necessary.

💉 Yellow Fever Vaccination for Cape Verde Visa

The Republic of Cape Verde is a country where yellow fever outbreaks can occur. For this reason, all travelers must be vaccinated against yellow fever and carry the international vaccination certificate. It is recommended to have the vaccination at least 10 days before the trip. Additionally, routine vaccinations such as measles, typhoid, and diphtheria should be complete. To prevent diseases transmitted through food and water, Hepatitis A and typhoid vaccinations are also advised.

🕒 How Long Does It Take to Get a Cape Verde Visa?

Cape Verde visa applications are usually finalized within 3 to 10 business days. However, applications for work or study purposes may take longer. If consular officers request additional documents, the process may be extended. To ensure your visa is ready before your travel date, it is recommended to apply at least 1 month before your trip.

💰 Cape Verde Visa Fee 2025

Cape Verde visa fees vary depending on the type of visa and the number of entries. The Republic of Cape Verde issues single-entry and multiple-entry business, family visit, transit, and diplomatic visas, and the prices of these categories differ. The fee includes the visa cost, consular charges, and service fees. Current fee information must be confirmed before the application and paid during the process.

❌ Cape Verde Visa Refusal

The authority to decide on Cape Verde visa applications belongs exclusively to consular officers. Even if your documents are complete, your application may be refused. The refusal reason does not have to be explained. However, refusals usually occur due to missing or incorrect documents or insufficient funds in the bank account. Visa fees are non-refundable in case of refusal. For your second application, it is essential to prepare documents carefully and avoid repeating the same mistakes.
