🇫🇷 France Visa Request Letter – Marsel Visa

Dear visitors, welcome to our France Visa Request Letter page. This page provides corporate and up-to-date information regarding the visa request letter that must be submitted to the Consulate during France visa applications.

Turkish citizens traveling to France for a short stay (not exceeding 90 days) are required to apply for a France Schengen visa. The France Schengen visa covers tourism, business, visit, or cultural trips. Regardless of the purpose of travel, the visa request letter is one of the most important documents in the application. The letter must clearly state the applicant’s purpose of travel, travel dates, financial resources, and how travel expenses will be covered. This information must be supported by documents and included in the visa application file.

📝 How to Write a Visa Request Letter

France visa applications are evaluated by the Consulate authorized based on the applicant’s residence. Applications are submitted through Consulate-authorized application centers. However, the authority to evaluate applications may differ depending on the applicant’s location (e.g., France Istanbul Consulate, Ankara Embassy Consular Section). Therefore, the letter should be addressed to the relevant Consulate.

  • Purpose of Travel: The purpose of travel must be indicated at the beginning of the letter. Example phrase: “… I will visit your country for … purpose.” Supporting documents must be consistent with the stated purpose.
    • For tourism, a hotel reservation must be attached.
    • For visits, a municipality-approved invitation letter must be provided.
    • For business travel, a commercial invitation on company letterhead from a French company must be included.
  • Travel Dates: Travel dates must be clearly stated in the first sentence of the letter addressed to the Consulate. Dates must match flight reservations, hotel bookings, business invitations, and travel insurance policies. Any inconsistency may result in rejection of the application.
  • Financial Resources and Expenses: How travel expenses will be covered must be stated. If the applicant will cover the costs, this should be clearly indicated. If a sponsor is covering the expenses, the sponsor’s full name and signature must appear in the letter. For business travel, the company’s full legal name must be provided.

🗂️ Long-Term Visa Request

For tourism, business, or visit purposes, a long-term visa (1, 2, or 5 years) can be requested. The reason for requiring a long-term visa must be clearly stated in the letter. For example, if the applicant has long-term business relations with a company in France, this should be mentioned. Long-term visa requests can be included for all types of visas.

✍️ Letter Format and Language

  • The letter can be written by hand or digitally.
  • It must be clear, concise, and understandable. The letter serves as a summary of the visa application and is one of the most important documents submitted to the Consulate.
  • The letter can be written in Turkish or English. If written in Turkish, a certified English translation must be included during the application.
  • Wet signature is mandatory. Letters without a wet signature are not accepted. If the applicant’s travel is sponsored, the sponsorship letter must also include the sponsor’s wet signature.
