The process of applying for a Sweden visa begins with scheduling an appointment. When you apply through Marsel Visa, a suitable date and time will be set for you, and your appointment will be booked after your approval. On the confirmed date, you must be present at the biometric data center. For applications made in Istanbul, our operations specialist will accompany you to ensure that your procedures proceed smoothly.
📝 Sweden Visa Biometric Procedure
Since September 23, 2014, biometric data collection has been mandatory for all Schengen countries, including Sweden. During this procedure, all fingerprints of the applicant are digitally scanned. The aim of this system is to facilitate identity verification at border controls and prevent document fraud.
The fingerprinting process takes approximately 10 minutes but may vary depending on the workload of the center. Children under the age of 12 are not required to provide fingerprints, but they must still be present in person at the application center. Applicants between the ages of 12 and 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian during the biometric procedure. If you have already submitted biometric data in a Schengen visa application within the last three years, you may not be required to do so again. Our consultants will check your exemption status and provide you with clear information.
🕒 How Long Does a Sweden Visa Take?
Sweden visa applications are usually finalized within 5 to 15 business days. This period begins from the date of your biometric appointment. However, public holidays in Sweden and Türkiye, application density, and applications submitted with foreign passports may extend this timeframe. To avoid delays, it is recommended not to plan your application during official holiday periods.
