🇨🇺 Cuba Visa Procedures
Turkish citizens who wish to travel to Cuba are required to complete visa procedures depending on their type of passport. Holders of Ordinary (burgundy) passports are obliged to obtain a visa to enter Cuba. Holders of Special (green), Service (grey), and Diplomatic (black) passports are exempt from visa requirements for short-term stays. However, for holders of burgundy passports, the Cuban tourist visa, also known as the Cuba tourist card, is issued shortly after the application is made.
No matter which city you reside in Turkey, you can easily complete your Cuba visa application through Marsel Visa. You do not need to be personally present at the consulate for the application; it is sufficient to send us scanned color copies of your passport and photo. You can deliver your documents by courier, cargo, or through a third person. Once your application is finalized, your Cuba tourist card will be sent to your address by courier, or if you prefer, you can collect it in person from our central office.
📌 Cuba Visa Application Requirements
Cuba visas are not stickers placed in your passport, but rather a travel card approved by the Embassy of Cuba and stamped by the authorized visa service. Therefore, you do not need to send your original passport. However, your passport must be undamaged, with no torn pages, and valid for at least 6 months beyond your return date. Applications made with passports that do not meet these conditions will not be accepted.
The Cuba tourist visa is single-entry and allows a stay of 30 days after entry into the country. It is possible to extend this period for another 30 days by applying to the official authorities. You must carry your visa card together with your passport throughout your trip.
As an important note, with Cuban visas obtained from Turkey, it is not possible to enter Cuba via the United States. Passengers planning to travel this way are advised to obtain updated information from the Cuban Embassy in Washington.
📝 How to Apply for a Cuba Visa?
For a Cuba visa application, it is sufficient to send Marsel Visa a scanned color copy of the passport page containing your personal information and one photograph. Applications are made online through the Cuban Immigration Office, and the entire process is carried out by our experts. You do not need to complete an application form in person. The entire procedure can be completed with a single email.
Cuba tourist visas are finalized within an average of 2 business days. This period may be extended during official holidays or when the Cuban Immigration Office is busy. Applications made with foreign passports may also take longer to be processed.

- The Cuba tourist card and your passport must be kept with you throughout your trip.
- Foreign nationals applying from Turkey must submit their Turkish residence permit documents along with their application.
- For all passport categories, passports must be valid for at least 6 months.
- Cuba has a dual currency system: the Cuban Peso and the Convertible Peso (CUC). Foreigners use the CUC for transactions. It is recommended that money be exchanged only at official exchange offices called “CADECA” or banks.
- A departure tax of 25 CUC is required at the airport when leaving Cuba.
- Cuban tourist visas are single-entry. Once you leave the country, they become invalid.
- For Cuban business visas, you must apply directly to the Cuban Embassy with an invitation letter and the necessary additional documents.
- There are no mandatory vaccinations for travel to Cuba. The country generally has a healthy environment, and health services are satisfactory. However, it is advisable to bring mosquito repellent sprays and any personal medicines you may need.
