🇱🇹 Lithuania Visa Procedures

For Turkish citizens planning to travel to Lithuania, both short-term and long-term visa applications are carried out through the Consular Section of the Embassy of Lithuania and accredited visa application centers. Lithuania, as a member of the European Union and part of the Schengen Area, requires a Lithuania Schengen Visa (Type C Visa) for short-term stays up to 90 days for purposes such as tourism, business, family/friend visits, cultural events, or education.

Holders of Diplomatic (black), Service (grey), and Special (green) passports are exempt from visa requirements for stays up to 90 days within a 60-month period. However, Ordinary (burgundy) passport holders must obtain a visa for entry. For stays exceeding 90 days, such as education, residence, or work purposes, applicants must apply for a Lithuania National Visa (Type D Visa).

In compliance with Schengen regulations, biometric data (fingerprints) is mandatory for visa applications. Fingerprint records provided for a Schengen visa remain valid for 5 years; within this period, applicants are not required to resubmit biometric data.

📌 How to Apply for a Lithuania Visa?

Lithuania visa applications are submitted through accredited visa centers authorized by the Embassy. The correct visa category must be determined, the application form completed, and supporting documents prepared without errors. On the day of the appointment, biometric data must be provided (if not already recorded within the past 5 years). It is recommended to start the process at least 15 days before your planned travel date.

🕒 How Long Does It Take to Get a Lithuania Visa?

On average, Lithuania visa applications are processed within 7–10 business days, provided that all documents are complete. However, depending on special circumstances or additional document requests, processing times may extend to 15, 30, or even 60 days. To avoid delays, it is strongly advised to apply well in advance of your travel.

📌 Lithuania Visa Fees 2025

The Lithuania visa fee varies depending on the applicant's age, nationality, travel scope, and selected additional services. Additionally, there are some exemptions for programs funded by the European Union (such as Erasmus).

📌 Lithuania Visa Refusal

The final decision on your visa application rests solely with the Embassy and Consular Department of Lithuania. Applications with missing or incorrect documents may be refused. If your visa is denied, the official refusal letter provided by the embassy should be kept carefully, as it may be required for future applications.

📌 Lithuania Visa Procedures in Turkey

Visa applications for Lithuania can be made from all provinces in Turkey through accredited visa centers. Applicants who have previously submitted Schengen fingerprints may complete the process without appearing in person, while first-time applicants must attend the application center for biometric data submission.

Throughout the process, it is highly recommended to seek professional visa consultancy services to ensure that your application is handled smoothly and in line with the latest consular requirements.
