In travels you plan to the Republic of Sudan, one of the important countries of Africa, visa procedures vary depending on your purpose of travel and type of passport. For the majority of Turkish citizens who wish to travel to Sudan, obtaining a visa is mandatory. Therefore, before going to Sudan, you must complete the necessary visa procedures.
📌 Sudan Visa Requirement
For Turkish citizens traveling to Sudan holding:
- Ordinary Passport (maroon),
- Service Passport (grey), and

Special Passport (green),
a visa is required for short-term visits.
However, holders of a Diplomatic Passport (black) are exempt from visa requirements. This exemption applies to short-term stays not exceeding 90 days within a total of 180 days. For travels exceeding 90 days, a visa procedure appropriate to the scope of travel is required.
📝 How to Get a Sudan Visa?
Applicants for a Sudan visa must first clearly determine the purpose of their travel. Applications can be made under different categories such as tourist, business, or family visit. The visa application form appropriate to the intended purpose must be completed, and both standard personal documents and occupation-based documents must be prepared.
During the application process, documents such as a passport, biometric photograph, visa application form, travel health insurance, flight and hotel reservations are required. If the trip is for business purposes, an invitation from an institution or company in Sudan must be submitted; for family visits, an invitation letter from a relative residing in Sudan must be presented.

Sudan visa applications are generally finalized within 7 to 15 business days if the required documents are submitted completely. However, the workload of the Consulate, official holidays, or additional document requests may extend this period. To avoid disruptions to your travel plans, it is recommended to apply at least 1 month before your trip.
