Dear visitor, on this page you will find detailed information regarding Taiwan Visa procedures, Taiwan E-Visa application processes, Taiwan visa fees, and all the details you need to know during the application. In the following sections, you can also find answers to frequently asked questions such as “Does Taiwan require a visa?” and “Is there a visa for Taiwan?”.
📌 Does Taiwan Require a Visa?
The government of Taiwan requires Turkish citizens to obtain a visa regardless of passport type in order to enter Taiwan. Holders of Ordinary (Bordo), Special (Green), Service (Gray), and Diplomatic (Black) passports must all apply for a visa before traveling to Taiwan. Taiwan visa applications are issued according to the purpose of travel, and for short-term visas the applications can be easily completed through intermediary services. For education, employment, or long-term residence visas, applicants must apply directly to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Mission in Ankara.
🏝 Types of Taiwan Visas
According to the purpose of travel, different visa categories are applied for entry into Taiwan. For short-term trips, the available visa types are:
- Taiwan Tourist Visa for tourism, cultural or sports purposes
- Taiwan Business Visa for business meetings, fairs, conferences and similar events
- Taiwan Visitor Visa for family, relatives or friend visits
For long-term purposes such as education, employment or settlement, visa applications must be made directly through the Taiwan Embassy.
📝 Taiwan E-Visa and Visa on Arrival
The most preferred method of entry to Taiwan is the Taiwan E-Visa. The E-Visa is highly convenient as it does not require a consular fee, is processed quickly, can be obtained online from anywhere in the world, and does not require the submission of physical documents. With an approved Taiwan E-Visa, applicants are granted a 90-day validity period during which they can stay in Taiwan for up to 30 days.
E-Visa applications are not processed by the Taipei Representative Office in Ankara but are evaluated directly by the Taiwan Immigration Office. Once approved, the visa is issued electronically and sent to the applicant via email in PDF format. The average processing time is 3 business days. At no stage of the application is the applicant required to appear in person, provide fingerprints, or send their passport physically.
Another alternative is the Taiwan Visa on Arrival. This application can be made upon landing at certain airports in Taiwan. However, due to possible long queues, the requirement to present a return ticket, the necessity of filling out a form, and carrying photographs, it is less preferred. The Visa on Arrival is available only at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, Taipei Songshan Airport, Taichung Airport, and Kaohsiung International Airport. It is valid for 30 days and cannot be extended.
🕒 Required Documents for Taiwan Visa
For the Taiwan E-Visa, the only required document is a passport valid for at least 6 months after the end of travel. Scanning the biometric information page of the passport in color and starting the application through the online system will be sufficient. If additional documents are required, applicants will be informed.
For the Taiwan Visa on Arrival, certain documents must be presented at the airport, including:
- A passport valid for at least 6 months
- Confirmed round-trip plane ticket
- A completed application form provided at the airport
- 2 biometric photographs
Taoyuan Havalimanı üzerinden giriş yapanların Konsolosluk İşleri Bürosu’na, diğer havalimanlarından giriş yapanların ise Ulusal Göçmenlik Ajansı’na belgeleri teslim etmeleri gerekir.
