🇦🇴 Angola Visa Procedures

The Republic of Angola, located in the southwest of the African continent, is a country that Turkish citizens cannot travel to without a visa. There is no visa exemption agreement between the Republic of Turkey and Angola. Therefore, holders of Diplomatic (Black), Service (Gray), Special (Green), and Ordinary (Burgundy) passports are all required to obtain a visa before traveling. In addition, Angola does not issue visas at the border, so visas must be obtained in Turkey prior to departure.

Especially for those traveling to Angola for business purposes, there is an important regulation to be aware of. At least 3 days before the trip, the inviting company’s representative must submit a copy of the invitation letter and a declaration to the immigration office at the airport where you will enter Angola. These documents must include your flight details, travel date, and bear the signature of the inviting authority. If these documents are not submitted in advance, entry to the country will not be permitted.

📝 How to Apply for an Angola Visa?

The authority to process and evaluate Angola visa applications lies solely with the Embassy of Angola in Ankara. Regardless of which city in Turkey you reside in, you may apply personally or through authorized agencies. It is extremely important that all documents are prepared accurately and completely. Applications made with missing or incorrect information have a high risk of rejection.

📌 Angola Visa Application Form

The first step in the Angola visa process is to complete the Angola Visa Application Form without errors. This form can be filled out in Turkish, English, or Portuguese. It includes sections for personal details, travel purpose, travel dates, employment status, health details, and vaccination information. For a smooth process, all information must be provided truthfully and accurately. The form must also be completed legibly in capital letters.

👜 Required Documents for an Angola Visa

The required documents for an Angola visa vary depending on the applicant’s purpose of travel and occupational status. However, in general, the documents include: a passport valid for at least 6 months, a fully completed application form, biometric photos, a letter explaining the purpose of travel, bank statements showing sufficient funds, flight and hotel reservations, a copy of the national ID, vaccination card, and an employer’s leave letter for employees. Students must provide a student certificate, while business travelers must add an invitation letter and supporting documents. Authorities may request additional documents during the evaluation process, so it is important to prepare a complete file.

🕒 How Long Does It Take to Get an Angola Visa?

Once all documents are submitted without error, the Angola visa is generally issued within 5 to 15 business days. However, this period may be extended due to embassy workload, public holidays, or requests for additional documents. To avoid disruptions to your travel, it is recommended to apply at least 1 month before your planned departure date.

💰 Angola Visa Fees

Angola visa fees vary depending on the visa type and duration. Tourist visas are issued for a maximum of 60 days, with an initial stay of 30 days permitted. This period can be extended once for an additional 30 days. The visa fee includes the consular charge and service fee, and payments may be made via bank transfer or cash.

❌ Angola Visa Refusal

Submitting your documents or paying the visa fee does not guarantee the approval of your visa. The decision-making authority rests solely with the Embassy of Angola in Ankara. Applications may be rejected due to incomplete documents, insufficient financial means for the trip, or doubts about returning after the visa expires. Please note that visa fees are non-refundable in the event of rejection. However, you may reapply after correcting deficiencies.

⚠️ Important Considerations for the Angola Visa

Turkish citizens planning to travel to Angola must receive a Yellow Fever vaccination at least 10 days before their trip. At the border, the Yellow Fever vaccination card is checked, and entry will be denied without it. Additionally, since malaria is present in Angola, it is recommended to take the necessary preventive medication and use insect repellent against mosquito bites. It is also important that your passport is valid and not damaged. Submitting incomplete documents increases the likelihood of rejection, so careful and thorough preparation is essential.
