🇫🇮 Finland Family Visit Visa
Finland family visit visa; it is a type of short-term Schengen visa that individuals wishing to visit family members, relatives, or friends legally residing in Finland must apply for. Visits made with this visa should not exceed 90 days.
Since Finland is included in the Schengen area, if your passport does not contain a valid Schengen visa obtained in the last 5 years, fingerprint declaration is mandatory during the application. 📝 Required Documents for Finland Family Visit Visa
The documents to be submitted in applications must be up-to-date.
Invitation Letter: A signed invitation letter prepared in Finnish, Swedish, English, or Turkish. It must not be older than 6 months. It can be handwritten. The invitation must include the inviter’s name, address, date of birth, contact information; the purpose, duration, and degree of relationship of the visit of the invitee must definitely be stated. If the inviter is not a Finnish citizen, a photocopy of the passport and residence permit must be attached. Notarization is not required.
Passport: Must be valid for at least 3 months after the end of the trip, must have at least 2 blank pages, and must not be older than 10 years. Previously obtained Schengen, US, or UK visas must also be submitted as photocopies.

Bank Statement: Bank statement for the last 3 months with at least 70,000 TL balance, stamped and signed, together with the bank’s signature circular.

🛠 Additional Services
- Travel Health Insurance: Every applicant, including children, must have Schengen health insurance with €30,000 coverage. The insurance must cover the entire Schengen area and the entire period of stay. For multiple-entry visas, an insurance policy covering only the first journey is sufficient.
- Flight and Hotel Reservation: If you do not have a ticket, reservation support is provided. It is recommended not to purchase a ticket before the visa is issued. Hotel reservations are also made for those who will not stay with the inviter.
- Cargo/Courier Service: After the process is completed, your passport is delivered to your address upon request.
🕒 Finland Family Visit Visa Processing Time
The processing time of applications is on average between 8–15 business days. Missing documents or additional requirements may extend the process. All applications are evaluated only by the Embassy of Finland in Ankara. For applications made outside Ankara, there may be a 1–2 day delay due to the transfer of documents. During official holiday periods, the processing time may be extended due to workload. The Embassy has the right to request additional documents or information or to call the applicant for an interview.
