🇮🇳 Required Documents for Indian Tourist Visa
Turkish citizens who are planning to travel to India for tourism purposes are required to obtain a visa before their journey. Holders of Ordinary (Bordeaux), Special (Green), and Service (Gray) passports cannot enter India without a valid visa, while holders of Diplomatic (Black) passports are exempt for stays not exceeding 90 days.
There is a regional division in Indian visa applications. The Consulate General of India in Istanbul is authorized to process applications from residents of Aydın, Balıkesir, Bursa, Çanakkale, Denizli, Edirne, Istanbul, Kırklareli, Kocaeli, Manisa, Muğla, Sakarya, Tekirdağ, and Yalova. Applications from all other provinces fall under the jurisdiction of the Embassy of India in Ankara.
Biometric fingerprint submission is mandatory for every visa application. Regardless of previous applications, the applicant must appear in person at the consulate to provide fingerprints. Applicants over the age of 70 are exempt from this requirement. - Two biometric photos (5x5 cm, white background, recent)
- Proof of residence (obtained from the Civil Registry Office, signed and stamped; e-Government printouts are not accepted)
- Photocopy of ID card (front and back)
- Bank statement from the last 3 months (with a minimum balance of 5,000 TL, stamped and signed, with signature circular attached)
- Residence permit copy (for applicants with foreign passports)
- Personal visa request letter (can be prepared with consultant assistance)
- Flight ticket and hotel reservations
- Current personal bank account statement (non-savings, last 3 months, at least 70,000 TL balance, stamped and signed, with signature circular attached)

For applications with foreign passports submitted from Türkiye, the processing time is 4–7 business days. Applications of Turkish citizens are generally concluded within 1–2 business days.
