🇲🇹 Malta Business Visa
The Malta Business Visa is granted to applicants who intend to travel to Malta for business purposes such as signing contracts, attending meetings, or participating in fairs and conferences. This type of visa allows you to stay in Malta for a limited period of time and carry out your commercial activities. The documents required for application consist of both standard personal documents and additional professional documents depending on your employment status.
At Marsel Visa, we provide you with the updated 2025 document list and all necessary details regarding the process, offering professional support from the preparation of your file until the finalization of your application. Before you begin, we recommend that you carefully review the following information.
📌 Standard Documents for Malta Business Visa
Every applicant must submit certain standard documents for a Malta Business Visa. Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the end of your trip, issued within the last 10 years, and must contain at least 2 blank pages. The information on your passport must match your ID; in cases of name changes due to marriage or divorce, corrections must be completed before the application.
You must submit a fully completed and signed Malta Schengen visa application form, two biometric photos taken within the last 6 months (35x45 mm, white background), photocopies of all used passport pages, a photocopy of your national ID card, round-trip flight reservations, and hotel booking confirmations. In addition, you are required to have travel health insurance valid in all Schengen countries, with a minimum coverage of €30,000, valid until at least 15 days after your return.
Applicants must also prove their financial means to cover travel expenses by submitting the last 3 months’ bank account statements, as well as property deeds or vehicle licenses if available. Bank accounts must show recent transactions within the last 15 days. The Malta Consulate may request additional documents depending on your personal situation.
📝 Professional Documents for Malta Business Visa
Depending on your occupational status, additional professional documents must be provided.
For Employers: An official invitation letter issued by a company or institution in Malta, including the inviter’s ID details, and if applicable, proof of registration fees paid. The invitation must be written on company letterhead and bear the official stamp and signature. You must also provide the company’s chamber of commerce registration, trade registry gazette, tax certificate, and signature circulars. SGK (social security) entry declaration, the last 3 months’ salary slips (signed and stamped), a barcoded social security service record, and a personal letter addressed to the Malta Consulate explaining your travel purpose and dates (in English or German) must be included.
For Employees: An employer’s approval letter on company letterhead confirming leave, position, and duration of travel; the last 3 months’ stamped and signed salary slips; SGK entry declaration; barcoded social security service record; company documents (updated); and an invitation letter from a Maltese institution. A personal letter in English or German stating the purpose and dates of travel must also be submitted.
For Farmers: Applicants who are farmers must provide a valid and updated farmer certificate issued by their local chamber of agriculture.
🕒 Processing Time for Malta Business Visa
The Malta Business Visa is generally processed within 5 to 10 working days. However, depending on the workload of the Malta Consulate, official holidays, and the applicant’s personal situation, this duration may vary. For foreigners residing in Turkey, the processing time may be longer. Applicants should also consider mailing and handling times and are advised to apply at least 30 days prior to travel, especially during public and religious holidays when processing delays are common.
Resmi tatil ve bayram dönemlerinde başvuru yoğunluğu sebebiyle işlemlerin uzayabileceğini göz önünde bulundurmalı ve başvurunuzu seyahatinizden en az 30 gün önce yapmalısınız.
📌 Important Notes for Malta Business Visa
All documents must be accurate, complete, and up to date. Missing or incorrect documentation may delay or negatively affect the outcome of your application. Providing proof of your previous travel history, such as Schengen visas obtained in the last 3 years and old passports, may increase your chances of obtaining a long-term visa.
The Malta Consulate will only approve your application if Malta is the main destination of your trip. Once issued, you must enter the Schengen area first through Malta; afterwards, you will be allowed to travel to other Schengen countries.
