🇲🇹 Required Documents for Malta Tourist Visa
For your Malta tourist travel, the documents you need to prepare consist of those that confirm your personal identity information as well as those that prove your professional status. These documents are mandatory under Schengen visa procedures and may vary depending on the purpose of your travel. 📌 Personal Documents
- Passport: Must not be older than 10 years, valid for at least 3 months after your return date, and contain at least 2 blank pages. Damaged or worn passports may lead to rejection. Foreign nationals residing in Türkiye must have a residence permit valid for at least 3 months after return.
- Malta Schengen Visa Application Form: Must be completed accurately and truthfully, with no missing information, and must be signed. Incorrect or incomplete data may result in rejection.
- Biometric Photographs: Two photographs sized 35x45 mm, white background, recent (taken within the last 6 months), in color, printed on normal photo paper, showing the applicant’s full face clearly. Glasses should not obstruct the eyes.
- Photocopies of Passport Pages: All processed pages, including previous visas, must be included.
- Copy of Identity Card: Both sides must be copied. If your new identity card is not yet issued during the process, you may need a temporary identity certificate from the population directorate.
- Flight and Hotel Reservations: Proof of round-trip flight bookings and hotel accommodation in Malta. These must be in the applicant’s name. Having confirmed bookings supports your intention to return.
- Travel Health Insurance: Mandatory for all Schengen countries. Must cover at least €30,000, valid 15 days beyond your return date. Life insurance policies are not accepted.
📌 Financial and Professional Status Documents
- Bank Account Statement: It must be from the last 3 months, show current transactions, and be obtained from the bank with a stamp and signature. If available, photocopies of the title deed and vehicle registration should also be included.
- For Employees: Original leave letter from employer on company letterhead, SGK entry declaration, last 3 months’ salary slips, SGK service statement.
- For Business Owners: Chamber of Commerce registration, trade registry gazette, tax certificate, signature circulars.
- For Farmers: Certificate from the affiliated agricultural chamber.
- For Students: Student certificate and notarized sponsorship letter from parents or relatives proving financial responsibility. The letter must state travel dates and cover daily expenses. A notarized copy of the sponsor’s ID must be attached.
- For Minors: A notarized parental consent letter (muvafakatname) and a detailed population registration copy are required for children traveling alone.

Malta tourist visas are typically finalized within 5–10 business days. However, delays may occur due to consular workload, public holidays, missing or incorrect documents, or if the applicant holds a foreign passport. To avoid disruptions, it is advised to apply at least 1 month in advance.
