🇨🇿 Required Documents for Czech Republic Tourist Visa
Dear passengers,
We have prepared detailed information for you regarding the visa procedures you must complete for your tourist trips to the Czech Republic. The Czech Republic is one of the countries within the Schengen area, and therefore, holders of Ordinary (burgundy) passports must obtain a tourist visa for trips not exceeding 90 days. Holders of Diplomatic, Special, and Service passports are exempt from visa procedures for trips up to 90 days. The list of documents required for a Czech tourist visa in 2025 has been prepared based on the regulations of the Czech Consulate. Before planning your trip, you must make sure that your documents are accurate, complete, and up to date.
For a Czech tourist visa application, you must have a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the end of your trip. Your passport must not be older than 10 years and must contain at least two blank pages for the visa stamp. If you have renewed your identity card, make sure your passport details match your updated information. Each applicant must complete a Schengen visa application form, and for tourist trips, the purpose of travel must be marked as “tourism” in section 21. The form must be signed in the designated places and submitted for each applicant. If the applicant is under 18, the form must be filled and signed by their parents. The information on the form must be correct, consistent, and current.
Two biometric photos meeting Schengen standards, with a white background and recent date, must be submitted. A copy of the front and back sides of your ID card, along with a full family register sample including family and address details, must also be provided. Hotel confirmation documents are required as proof of accommodation, and pre-booking documents are not accepted. Flight reservations showing round-trip travel and valid travel health insurance covering at least €30,000 for emergency situations are also mandatory for Schengen visa applications.
Applicants must provide a stamped and signed bank statement showing transactions from the last three months. Employees are required to submit the last three months’ signed and stamped salary slips, the Social Security employment entry document, and the Social Security service statement obtained through the e-government system, as well as up-to-date company documents such as the certificate of activity, signature circular, tax certificate, and trade registry gazette. Employers must submit a petition written in English on company letterhead, addressed to the consulate, explaining the purpose of travel, travel dates, and coverage of expenses, signed and stamped by the company official. In addition, they must provide the Social Security 4B service record along with updated company documents. Students must submit a current student certificate from their school or via e-government, retirees must provide a pension statement from their bank or a retirement booklet, and farmers must submit a farming certificate issued by the relevant agricultural chamber.
Czech Republic tourist visa applications are usually finalized within 7 to 10 business days. However, public holidays, consulate workload, or missing documents may extend this period. To avoid delays, it is recommended to apply at least one month before your planned trip. All applicants are required to give fingerprints at the Czech Consulate, even if they have previously given fingerprints for Schengen visas. Applicants over the age of 18 who are students must also submit their personal bank account statements along with their application. Foreign nationals residing in Türkiye must provide their residence permits, valid for at least 3 months beyond the end of the trip.
Czech tourist visas are generally issued for the length of the hotel reservation. If you are planning to visit other Schengen countries during your trip, you must submit a detailed travel itinerary and provide supporting documents such as hotel reservations and transportation tickets for these trips. If you are traveling with a tour, the tour program and hotel confirmations must also be added to your file. Clearly documenting your travel purpose, accommodation, and financial situation strengthens your application and increases the likelihood of a positive result.
The only authority to evaluate and finalize your Czech tourist visa application is the Czech Consulate. The consulate has the right to request additional documents during the evaluation process. These must be submitted on time and in full. Since consulates do not process applications on official holidays, you should plan your application accordingly. To avoid any disruptions in your planned travel, it is strongly advised to complete your Czech Republic tourist visa application at least one month before your trip.
