Details regarding this document are provided below. Please note that the travel health insurance you submit must specifically cover Croatia. Insurance policies valid for Schengen countries are not valid for Croatia.
Applicants residing in Edirne, Kırklareli, Tekirdağ, Istanbul, Bursa, Bilecik, Kütahya, Manisa, Yalova, Kocaeli, Sakarya, Izmir, Uşak, Aydın, Denizli, Muğla, Düzce, Çanakkale, Balıkesir, Antalya, and Burdur can complete their applications through our offices in Istanbul, Izmir, Bursa, and Antalya. Applicants from other provinces should apply through our Ankara and Gaziantep offices. You can contact our call center to confirm which office is responsible for your residence area.
Holders of ordinary (Bordo) passports are required to obtain a Croatia visa. The visa exemption between Turkey and Croatia ended in 2013.
🏝 Can You Travel to Schengen with a Croatia Visa?
The Croatia visa is not a Schengen visa. Therefore, it cannot be used to travel to Schengen countries. However, holders of multiple-entry Schengen visas may enter Croatia with the approval of Croatian border officials.
📌 Required Documents for Croatia Family Visit Visa
Standard Documents
- Passport: Must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the return date, issued within the last 10 years, and contain at least 2 blank pages. Copies of visas from the current and previous passports must also be submitted.
- Visa Application Form: Available in Turkish, English, Croatian, and other languages. The form must be completed in full. Applicants under 18 must have the form signed by their parents or legal guardians.
- Biometric Photograph: Two recent photos, 35x45 mm, white background.
- Travel Health Insurance: Must have a minimum coverage of €30,000 and explicitly state “Croatia.”
- Transportation and Accommodation Reservations: Round-trip flight tickets, hotel bookings, and any transit travel documents (train, bus, etc.).
- Guarantee Letter: Must be prepared by the host in Croatia, notarized or certified by the embassy, and supported by the guarantor’s income documents and bank statements.
- Financial Documents: Last 3 months’ bank statements, certified bank balance, property deeds, or vehicle registration. If expenses are covered by a guarantor, financial documents are not required.
- Certificate of Family Relationship: If the guarantor is a relative, an official population registration certificate must be provided.
Professional Documents
- Employees: Last 3 months' pay stubs, SGK employment registration document, SGK 4A service statement, employer's permission letter, company documents (tax certificate, trade registry newspaper, signature circular, chamber registration).
- Employers: A petition written on letterhead, trade chamber registration, tax plate, signature circulars, 4B service breakdown, and additional income documents.
- Farmers: Farming certificate from the agricultural chamber, animal registration records if available, and vehicle registration.
- Retirees: Retirement certificate or a certified account statement obtained from the bank where the salary is deposited.
- Students: E-Government or student certificate obtained from the school.
- Foreign Nationals: A photocopy of a valid residence permit in Turkey.
🕒 How Long Does It Take to Get a Croatia Family Visit Visa?
If the application file is complete, the Croatian Embassy or Consulate usually processes applications within 5 to 15 working days. However, the timeframe may be extended for foreign nationals, consular jurisdiction issues, official holidays, or periods of high application volume. To avoid rejection, applications should be submitted at least 30 days before your travel date.

❌ Who is Exempt from the Croatia Visa?
You do not need to obtain a visa for Croatia in the following situations:
- Those who hold a multiple-entry Schengen Type C visa,
- Those who hold a long-term type D visa from Schengen countries,
- Those who have a residence permit in one of the Schengen countries,
- Those with a residence permit or multiple-entry national visa for Bulgaria, Cyprus, or Romania.
⚠️ Attention Applicants
- Even if you have previously provided fingerprints for Schengen, you will need to provide fingerprints again for the Croatia visa.
- The Croatia visa does not grant entry rights to the Schengen area.
- Your health insurance must include the term "Croatia."
- Applications may not be accepted less than 15 days before the travel date.
- Holders of diplomatic (black), special (green), and service (gray) passports are exempt from visas for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
