🇮🇪 Ireland Visa Procedures

Citizens of the Republic of Türkiye are required to obtain a visa for all travels to Ireland, regardless of the type of passport they hold. Ordinary, Special, Service, and Diplomatic passport holders are all subject to the Irish visa requirement. Persons holding a valid United Kingdom visa may only travel to Ireland after first entering the UK, but this visa does not allow direct travel to Ireland. For travel to Ireland, different categories of visas are issued, ranging from tourist visits to business meetings, conferences, and educational programs.

🏝 Ireland Short-Term (C Type) Visas

Ireland short-term (C Type) visas are granted for visits lasting 90 days or less. These visas include tourist travel, business meetings, participation in conferences or seminars, family and friend visits, internships, medical treatment, travel for performances or tournaments, and short-term educational programs. Applicants may apply for one of these visa types by submitting documents appropriate to the purpose of travel and proving their financial means.

📌 How to Obtain an Ireland Visa

Applications for an Ireland visa are not accepted directly by the Irish Consulate but are made through authorized application centers. In the application process, the online application form must first be completed, followed by the preparation and submission of the required documents. Submitting incorrect or misleading documents in the application may result in refusal of the visa without the right of appeal. For this reason, it is important that all documents are prepared accurately, correctly, and completely.

📝 Short-Term Visa Application Requirements

In Ireland short-term visa applications, applicants must provide documents demonstrating that they will leave the country at the end of their stay. Financial means to cover all travel expenses must be proven with documents, a declaration of compliance with the rules of the Common Travel Area with the United Kingdom must be submitted, and the application file must be complete. In addition, as multiple-entry visas are not granted to those who have not previously held an Irish visa, first-time applicants are issued a single-entry visa.

🕒 Ireland Visa Processing Time

Ireland visa applications are assessed through the authorized center in Ankara, and the processing time for short-term visas is on average 10 working days. However, this period may be extended depending on application volume and the status of the file. In long-term (D Type) visas, the processing time can reach 7–8 weeks.

🏝 Points to Consider When Traveling to Ireland

An Irish visa does not guarantee definite entry into the country. The final decision is made by border control officers. As documents proving the purpose of travel may be requested at the border, it is mandatory to carry originals of documents such as passport, visa, invitation letter, hotel and flight reservations, and financial statements.

📝 Required Documents for an Ireland Visa

The documents required for applicants vary depending on the purpose of travel. However, in general, an up-to-date passport and photocopies of previous passports, bank statements proving financial means, official letters proving employment or education status, accommodation and flight reservations, travel health insurance, and invitation letters, if any, are required. For student visa applications, an acceptance letter, education plan, and language proficiency documents must be included, while for business visas, company details and business correspondence must be present in the file. All documents must be prepared in English or translated by a sworn translator.

🕒 Ireland Visa Fee

Ireland visa application fees differ between single-entry and multiple-entry visas. Fees are paid in Turkish Lira and only in cash. The current fees are notified by the relevant institution at the time of application, and it is recommended to check them before applying.

🏝 Ireland Visa Extension

The length of stay in Ireland is limited to the duration indicated on the visa in the passport. It is mandatory to leave the country before the permit expires. In exceptional cases, it is possible to request an extension while in Ireland. However, such requests are accepted only in special circumstances, and the application must be made before the current permit expires.

📝 Ireland Long-Term (D Type) Visas

For education, work, family reunification, and employment purposes lasting more than 90 days, D Type visas are issued. These visas are assessed by the Irish Immigration Office, and the processing of applications may take several weeks. In long-term visa applications, applicants are expected to provide detailed documentation of their accommodation, financial, and education plans in Ireland.
