For applicants under 18: if the applicant is traveling alone, a notarized parental consent form is required. If only one parent is accompanying the child, a notarized consent form from the other parent must be submitted. If both parents are traveling with the child, no consent form is required.
🕒 How Long Does It Take to Obtain an Iceland Family Visit Visa?
The processing time for an Iceland family visit visa is approximately 7 to 10 business days. However, this period may be extended depending on the workload of the Icelandic Embassy, the Danish Consulate authorized to handle applications, or if additional documents are requested. Applications submitted with foreign passports from Turkey may also take longer to process.
📌 Important Notes for Iceland Family Visit Visa Applications
Since Iceland is part of the Schengen area, the family visit visa is a type C Schengen visa. This visa grants the holder the right of free movement within the Schengen zone. The authority to evaluate Iceland visa applications in Turkey lies with the Icelandic Embassy and the Danish Consulate.
Turkish special (green), service (grey), and diplomatic (red) passport holders are exempt from visas for stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Turkish ordinary (burgundy) passport holders, however, must obtain a valid Schengen visa in order to enter Iceland.
According to Schengen security procedures, ordinary passport holders must provide fingerprints.
