🇮🇸 Iceland Business Visa

Turkish citizens who wish to travel to Iceland for business meetings, fairs, seminars, or other commercial purposes are required to obtain a business visa. Since Iceland is part of the Schengen area, Schengen rules apply to all business-related travel to this country. The Iceland business visa must be requested with documents supporting the applicant’s professional activities, and the invitation letter must be complete in terms of both content and format.

📝 Required Documents for Iceland Business Visa

All documents to be submitted for an Iceland business visa must have been issued within the last 3 months. The passport must not be older than 10 years, must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the return date of travel, and must have at least two blank pages. In addition, two biometric photographs, a copy of the national ID card, a full copy of the population registration (showing family details), and a duly completed Iceland Schengen visa application form are required.

The most important document in business visa applications is the invitation letter. The invitation letter prepared by the Icelandic company on official letterhead must include the inviting company’s contact details, the scope of the business event, the address and dates, as well as the personal details of the invited person from Turkey, their position, travel sponsor, and accommodation details. If the application is for a fair or exhibition, participation documents, fair stand information, or an invitation letter must also be submitted. A copy of the inviter’s Icelandic ID card or residence permit must also be attached.

📌 Documents According to Professional Status

For employees, the employer must provide a certificate of activity, the latest trade registry gazette, tax certificate, signature circular, SGK employment entry statement, social security service statement, and the original, signed and stamped payrolls of the last three months. For employers, the chamber of commerce registration, certificate of activity, trade registry gazette, tax certificate, and signature circular must be included. Farmers are required to submit a farmer’s certificate issued by the chamber of agriculture.

🕒 How Long Does It Take to Obtain an Iceland Business Visa?

The processing time for an Iceland business visa is approximately 7 to 10 business days. However, depending on the workload of the consulate or in cases where additional documents are requested, this period may be extended. In particular, applications submitted in Turkey with foreign passports may take longer to process.

📌 Important Notes for Iceland Business Visa Applications

Iceland is a member of the Schengen area, and visa applications made in Turkey are processed by the Danish Consulate. Holders of Turkish green, grey, and black passports are exempt from the visa requirement for short stays in Iceland. However, Turkish ordinary (burgundy) passport holders are required to apply for a visa. Those who have obtained a Schengen visa after 25 September 2014 are registered in the Schengen Visa Information System and may be exempt from the fingerprint requirement. Applicants who are applying for the first time or who do not have VIS records must provide biometrics.

🏝 Iceland Schengen Visa and Travel Rules

The Iceland business visa is a type C Schengen visa. With this visa, it is possible to travel to other Schengen countries besides Iceland; however, it is strongly recommended that the first entry be made through Iceland. It is important not to overstay the granted duration, to plan the trip in accordance with the invitation dates, and to keep your travel health insurance with you throughout your stay.

It is very important for your application to be successful that the documents are prepared completely, the business invitation contains detailed and accurate information, and the documents supporting your financial situation are sufficient.
