🇱🇺 Luxembourg Tourist Visa

Individuals planning to travel to Luxembourg for tourism purposes are required to obtain a short-term visa. The Luxembourg tourist visa allows you to stay and travel within the country for a limited period. Marsel Visa provides professional assistance throughout every stage of your application process, ensuring your procedures are completed as quickly as possible.

📝 What Is a Tourist Visa?

The Luxembourg tourist visa is a type of Schengen visa issued for short-term stays in Luxembourg for travel, vacation, or tourism purposes. Since Luxembourg is a member of the Schengen Area, this visa allows you to stay in the country for up to 90 days and also travel to other Schengen countries without the need for an additional visa. However, if your stay will exceed 90 days, you must apply for a long-term visa. Citizens of the Republic of Turkey holding special (green), service (gray), or diplomatic (black) passports are exempt from visa requirements for stays not exceeding 90 days within a 180-day period. Ordinary (burgundy) passport holders are required to apply for a visa before their trip.

📌 Luxembourg Tourist Visa Application Process

Short-term Luxembourg visa applications cannot be made directly to the Consulate or Embassy. Applications must be submitted through institutions authorized by the Consulate. These intermediary institutions are responsible for forwarding your application file to the Consulate. Before applying, you must clearly determine the duration and purpose of your trip. If your travel purpose is other than tourism, Marsel Visa consultants will guide you on the most suitable visa type.

The Marsel Visa expert team assists you in every step of the process — from preparing and verifying the required documents to scheduling your Consulate appointment and providing guidance on the day of your interview. Once all your documents are submitted completely, your file is forwarded to the Consulate, and when your visa is finalized, your passport will be delivered to you. The approval or refusal of your visa is entirely at the discretion of the Consulate and Embassy authorities.

🕒 Visa Processing Time

Luxembourg tourist visa applications are generally finalized within 10 to 15 days. However, if additional documents are requested by the Consulate or if your application coincides with official holidays, the processing time may be extended. Therefore, it is recommended that you start your application at least one month before your planned travel date.

📝 Required Documents for a Luxembourg Tourist Visa

The documents required for a Luxembourg tourist visa application vary depending on the applicant’s professional status. All documents must be up-to-date, complete, and contain accurate information.

👤 Personal Documents

Among the essential documents for a Luxembourg tourist visa application are a valid passport, a photocopy of your ID, and biometric photos. The passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the end of your trip. In addition, a full population registration document, visa application form, and a letter of intent for a tourist visa must be included in your file. These documents officially verify your travel purpose and personal information.

💼 Documents for Employees

Employees must submit an official leave letter written on the company’s letterhead, specifying the travel dates, leave period, and purpose of the trip. Current company documents, such as a certificate of activity, trade registry gazette, tax certificate, and signature circular copies, must also be provided. Additionally, an SGK employment declaration, a social security statement covering the last three months, salary slips, and a bank account statement for the past three months (with a minimum balance of 70,000 TRY, stamped and signed) must be submitted. Public sector employees are also required to provide a leave permit and a copy of their official ID card.

🏢 Documents for Business Owners

Business owners must include current company documents such as a certificate of activity, trade registry gazette, tax certificate, and signature circular copies in their application file. Additionally, a 4B social security statement, a signed and stamped visa request letter on company letterhead, and a business bank account statement showing a balance of at least 70,000 TRY must be submitted. These documents demonstrate the applicant’s financial situation and business activity.

👴 Documents for Retirees

Retired applicants must submit their pension slip or a bank statement for the last three months showing pension payments. The account statement must be stamped and signed by a bank officer. A photocopy of the pensioner ID card must also be included in the file. These documents verify the applicant’s source of income and ability to cover travel expenses.

🎓 Documents for Students

Students applying for a Luxembourg tourist visa must provide a current student certificate. Applicants under the age of 18 are required to submit a notarized letter of consent (muvafakatname) signed by both parents. This document officially indicates that the parents permit their child to travel abroad.

📌 Important Notes

When applying for a Luxembourg tourist visa, all documents must be prepared accurately, completely, and in accordance with the purpose of travel. Submitting incomplete or incorrect documents may result in a visa refusal. The Consulate may request additional documents or invite the applicant for an interview if necessary. Considering these details, it is important that all applications are submitted on time and with complete documentation.
