🇳🇴 Norway Business Visa Required Documents

For your business-related trips to Norway such as meetings, fairs, seminars, conferences, or trade negotiations, you are required to apply for a Norway Business Visa. Although Norway is not a member of the European Union, it is included in the Schengen area, and therefore Schengen visa conditions apply. You can complete your application without personally visiting the consulate by sending your prepared documents via courier.

The documents required for a Norway business visa vary depending on the purpose of travel, your professional status, and financial capability. Below you will find the standard documents as well as the additional documents required for employees, employers, students, retirees, and farmers.

📌 Standard Documents

Passport: Must be valid for at least 3 months after your planned return date, not older than 10 years, and must have at least 2 blank pages. Photocopies of pages showing previously issued Schengen visas must also be attached.

Biometric Photos: Two recent photos, taken within the last 6 months, compliant with Schengen photo standards.

Norway Schengen Visa Application Form: Must be completed with accurate and current information. A separate form must be filled out for each applicant. If the applicant is too young to sign, the form must be signed by the parents.

Travel Health Insurance: Must cover the entire travel period, valid in the Schengen area, and provide minimum coverage of 30,000 Euros.

Invitation Letter: A commercial invitation letter issued by a company in Norway, clearly stating the purpose and dates of the trip. The invitation must be UDI-approved, signed, and stamped by the company official. The inviter’s contact details and company address must also be included.

Hotel and Travel Reservations: Round-trip flight reservations and hotel bookings must be submitted. If you plan to travel to other Schengen countries during your trip, this must be explained in a petition and supported with travel and accommodation documents.

Bank Statement: A stamped and signed bank statement for the last 3 months, showing a minimum balance of 35,000 TL.

Copy of Identity Card: A photocopy of both sides of your ID card.

📝 Notes for Norway Business Visa Application

  • Applications made from Istanbul are processed through the partner consulate, which is the Consulate of Hungary.
  • If you have previously obtained a Schengen visa and your fingerprint records are valid, you may not need to provide fingerprints again.
  • Applicants under the age of 12 are not required to be present during the application.
  • If a family member is sponsoring the applicant, the relationship must be proven with a full civil registry record.
  • Foreign nationals residing in Turkey must provide a residence permit valid for at least 6 months after the planned trip.
  • Applications made less than 15 days before the travel date may not be accepted. It is strongly recommended to apply at least 1 month in advance.

🕒 How Many Days Does a Norway Business Visa Take?

Norway business visa applications are generally finalized within 7 to 10 business days if submitted with complete and accurate documents. For foreign passport holders, the process may take longer. Applications from Istanbul are usually finalized about 2 days before the travel date.

The evaluation of applications is solely under the authority of the Norwegian Consulate. The consulate may request additional documents or invite the applicant for an interview. Carefully preparing and submitting your documents as required will help speed up the process and increase the likelihood of approval.

📌 Norway Visa Refusal

Even if you submit complete documents, your Norway visa application may be refused. If you receive a refusal letter from the consulate, you have the right to appeal within 3 weeks. Appeals can be submitted to the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) or the Norwegian Embassy. Your appeal letter must be written in English or Norwegian, clearly explaining the reasons for the objection, and supported with evidence if available. If your appeal is rejected, there is no higher authority for re-appeal, but you may submit a new visa application with the correct documents.
