🇳🇴 Norway Tourist Visa Required Documents
Dear visitors, as of 2025, the documents required for your tourist trips to Norway have been updated and must be submitted to the Norwegian Consulate when applying for a Norway tourist visa. Although Norway is not a member of the European Union, it is part of the Schengen area. Therefore, for short-term tourist visits, you are required to obtain a Norway Schengen visa. You can complete your application without having to appear in person by sending your prepared documents via courier to start the process.
For a Norway tourist visa application, all documents must be prepared in accordance with the consulate’s criteria, and it is very important that they are up-to-date, complete, and accurate. The list of required documents may vary depending on your personal circumstances. Below you will find both the standard documents and the additional documents required for employees, employers, students, retirees, and farmers.

📝 Important Notes
If a family member sponsors the Norway tourist visa applicant, the family relationship must be proven with a full civil registry record. Applications made in Istanbul are processed through the partner consulate, which is the Consulate of Hungary. If you already have a valid VIS Schengen visa, you may not need to give fingerprints again. Applicants under the age of 12 are not required to be present during the application.
Applications made less than 15 days before the travel date may not be accepted. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to apply at least 1 month in advance.
🕒 How Many Days Does a Norway Tourist Visa Take?
If submitted with complete and accurate documents, Norway tourist visa applications are generally finalized within 7 to 10 business days. For foreign passport holders, this process may take longer. The authority to decide on applications rests solely with the Norwegian Consulate. The consulate may request additional documents or invite the applicant for an interview if deemed necessary.
Carefully preparing your documents and submitting them in full will shorten the processing time and increase the chances of a positive outcome. In case of rejection, visa fees are non-refundable. It is also advised to consider official holidays in both Norway and Turkey when planning your application.
