🇸🇰 Required Documents for Slovakia Business Visa
Citizens holding Ordinary (maroon) passports who plan to travel to the Slovak Republic for business purposes must apply for a Slovakia Business Visa. Holders of Diplomatic (black), Special (green), and Service (grey) passports are exempt from visa requirements for short-term stays not exceeding 90 days. The documents required for a Slovakia business visa are determined by the Slovak Consulate, and it is strongly recommended to confirm the updated list with the Consulate before preparing your file. For a business visa application, both standard personal documents and professional documents based on the applicant’s occupational status must be prepared.
📝 Standard Documents
These are the basic documents required from every applicant for a Slovakia business visa. They include a valid passport, Slovakia Schengen visa application form, biometric photograph, travel health insurance, flight and accommodation reservations, proof of financial means, and photocopies of previously issued visas in the passport. The passport must have been issued within the last 10 years, contain at least 2 blank pages, and be valid for at least 3 months after the return date from Slovakia.
The application form must be filled out completely, and in section 21, the purpose of travel must be marked as business. Contact information must be current and accurate, and the applicant must sign in section 37 and at the end of the form. For underage applicants, the form must be signed by the parents or a legal guardian.
The biometric photograph must comply with Schengen standards and must have been taken within the last 6 months. Travel health insurance must be valid in Slovakia and the Schengen area and must provide minimum coverage of €30,000. In addition, financial documents such as the last 3 months’ payslips and bank statements must be included in the file. If the expenses are to be covered by a sponsor, the sponsor’s income and bank documents must also be submitted.
For business trips to Slovakia, trade fair participation documents or an invitation letter issued by an institution in Slovakia must be included in the application file.

📌 Slovakia Business Visa Application
For a Slovakia business visa application, each applicant must complete and sign a separate Schengen visa application form. The travel plan must be clearly stated in the application, and if other Schengen countries will be visited, these details must also be explained in the cover letter and supported with reservation documents.
Applicants must schedule an appointment with the Slovak Consulate and complete the fingerprint procedure. Applicants who have not submitted biometric data for Schengen visas in the last 5 years are required to provide fingerprints in person. To avoid disruptions to your travel, it is recommended to submit your application at least 30 days before your trip.
🕒 How Long Does It Take to Get a Slovakia Business Visa?
Slovakia business visa applications are generally finalized within 10 business days if the documents are complete and accurate. However, official holidays, requests for additional documents, or the Consulate’s workload may extend the process. For foreign nationals residing in Turkey, processing times may be longer. To ensure timely completion, it is advised to start the application process at least 1 month before travel.
❗ Warnings
For stays longer than 90 days due to education, employment, company establishment, or marriage, a Slovakia National Visa must be obtained.
Citizens of North Macedonia, Albania, Serbia, and Montenegro with biometric passports are exempt from short-term visa requirements for Slovakia.
Applications submitted less than 15 days before travel may not be accepted by the Slovak Consulate. Therefore, make sure to start your application procedures at least 1 month before your trip.
