🇸🇮 Slovenia Family Visit Visa

If you are planning to travel to Slovenia to visit your family members or close friends, you must apply for a family visit visa. Holders of Ordinary (Bordeaux) passports are subject to visa procedures for short-term stays. Holders of Diplomatic (Black), Service (Grey), and Special (Green) passports are exempt from visa requirements for visits not exceeding 90 days within a 180-day period.

A Slovenia family visit visa application requires both personal documents and additional documents depending on the applicant’s professional status. One of the most essential requirements is an official invitation letter from your host in Slovenia. All documents must be up to date and presented in the correct format requested by the Slovenian consular authorities.

📝 Required Documents for Slovenia Family Visit Visa

📌 Passport

The passport must not be older than 10 years, must have at least 2 blank pages, and remain valid for at least 3 months after the return date of your trip. Copies of previous visas should also be included in the application file.

📌 Slovenia Visa Application Form

The Schengen visa application form must be completed accurately. Section 17 must include the applicant’s contact information, and in Section 24, the number of entries requested should be marked. If you plan to visit other Schengen countries during your trip, the “multiple entry” option must be selected, and a detailed cover letter with travel plans should be added. The form must be signed in Section 37 and at the end. For minors, the form must be signed by parents or a legal guardian.

📌 Accommodation and Transportation Documents

Hotel bookings and round-trip flight or transport reservations must cover the entire trip with no gaps. Dates of accommodation and travel must be consistent. If you intend to travel to other Schengen countries during your stay, supporting transportation and accommodation documents must also be included. Applicants traveling by private vehicle must provide vehicle registration, Green Card insurance, and an international driving license.

📌 Travel Health Insurance

A travel health insurance policy valid throughout the Schengen area with minimum coverage of €30,000 must be arranged for the full duration of the trip.

📌 Biometric Photo

One biometric photo sized 35x45 mm with a white background, taken within the last 3 months, must be submitted.

📌 Financial Documents

The applicant must submit documents proving financial stability, including bank statements from the last 3 months, salary slips, and any additional income documents such as property or rental income.

📌 Population Registration Certificate

A full notarized population registration certificate (Tam Tekmil Vukuatlı Nüfus Kayıt Örneği) obtained via the e-Government system must be included.

📌 Consent Letter for Minors

For applicants under 18 years old traveling alone or with only one parent, a notarized consent letter signed by both parents must be submitted.

📌 Invitation Letter or Guarantee Document

An official invitation letter from your relative or friend in Slovenia is required. The inviter must provide details of the accommodation and confirm sponsorship if applicable. A guarantee letter may also be requested by the consulate.

📌 Occupational Documents

  • Employees: Last 3 months’ payslips, SGK employment entry, 4A SGK service statement, employer’s leave approval letter, and company registration documents.
  • Employers: 4B SGK service statement, company registration documents, signed and stamped visa request letter, and additional income documents.
  • Students: Certified student certificate (can also be obtained via e-Government system).
  • Retirees: Retirement certificate or pension statement.
  • Farmers: Chamber of Agriculture certificate and farmer registration documents.
  • Foreign Residents in Turkey: Valid Turkish residence permit card.
  • Applicants Without Income: Sponsor’s employment and financial documents, last 3 months’ bank statements, and proof of family relationship if the sponsor is a relative.

🕒 How Long Does It Take to Get a Slovenia Family Visit Visa?

Applications are usually finalized about 2 weeks before the travel date, provided all documents are complete. Processing may take longer for foreign nationals residing in Turkey. Applications must be submitted at least 1 month before the planned trip. The Slovenian consular authorities may invite applicants for an interview if necessary.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Applications made in Istanbul are processed by the Hungarian Consulate. The issued visa will be a Hungarian visa but is valid for travel to Slovenia.
  • Applicants residing in regions under the jurisdiction of the Slovenian Embassy in Ankara may be asked to provide chamber of commerce registration and the last 6 months’ bank statements.
  • Applications submitted less than 15 days before the intended travel may not be accepted. Submitting applications at least 30 days in advance is strongly recommended.
  • During official holidays in Slovenia and Turkey, processing times may be extended due to consular workload.
