🇸🇮 Slovenia Business Visa

If you are planning to travel to Slovenia for business purposes such as meetings, fairs, seminars, or symposiums, holders of Ordinary (Bordeaux) passports are required to apply for a business visa. Holders of Diplomatic (Black), Special (Green), and Service (Grey) passports are exempt from visa requirements for short stays not exceeding 90 days within a 180-day period. Since Slovenia is part of the Schengen area, business visas issued by Slovenia are Schengen visas, which also allow travel to other Schengen countries.

For a Slovenia business visa, applicants must prepare both personal documents and additional occupational documents depending on their professional status. All documents must be up-to-date and consistent with the purpose of the trip. Submitting a complete and accurate file is essential for the successful approval of your application.

📝 Required Documents for Slovenia Business Visa

The documents required for applicants to apply for business travel to Slovenia are detailed below:

📌 Passport

The passport to be used for a Slovenia business visa must have been issued within the last 10 years, remain valid for at least 3 months after the return date of travel, and contain at least 2 blank pages. Copies of previous passports with visas and stamped pages must also be included.

📌 Slovenia Visa Application Form

Applicants must complete the Schengen visa application form. In Section 21, “business” must be marked as the purpose of travel, and in Section 23, the country of first entry into the Schengen area must be indicated. The form must be signed in Section 37 and at the end. Minors must have a separate form completed and signed by their parents or legal guardian.

📌 Travel Health Insurance

Travel health insurance valid throughout the Schengen area with minimum coverage of €30,000 is mandatory. It must cover the entire duration of the trip and be signed and stamped.

📌 Biometric Photo

One biometric photo sized 35x45 mm with a white background, taken within the last 3 months, must be provided. The photo must be attached to the designated space on the application form.

📌 Accommodation and Transportation Documents

Hotel reservations covering the entire duration of the stay and round-trip transportation bookings must be included. The dates of the reservations must be consistent with the travel dates. Applicants traveling by private vehicle must submit international car insurance, a Green Card, and an international driving license. If traveling to multiple Schengen countries, a detailed cover letter outlining the itinerary, along with supporting documents such as tickets and reservations, must be submitted.

📌 Financial Documents

Bank statements from the last 3 months and additional documents such as property deeds or rental income must be included to demonstrate sufficient financial means for the trip.

📌 Invitation Letter

A formal invitation letter from a Slovenian company or organization is required. The letter must clearly state the subject of the business activity, as well as the dates and location.

📌 Occupational Documents

  • Employees: Last 3 months’ payslips, SGK employment entry, SGK service statement, employer’s leave approval letter, and company documents (signature circular, tax certificate, trade registry, chamber of commerce record).
  • Employers: 4B SGK service statement, company registration documents, English-written visa request letter on company letterhead (signed and stamped), and supporting income documents.
  • Farmers: Certificate from the Chamber of Agriculture, farmer registration, and documents regarding registered vehicles and livestock.
  • Students: Approved and signed student certificate (can also be obtained via e-Government system).
  • Retirees: Retirement certificate or pension statement from the bank.
  • Applicants Without Income: Sponsor’s employment and income documents, last 3 months’ bank statements, and, if the sponsor is a relative, proof of family relationship.
  • Foreign Residents in Turkey: Valid Turkish residence permit card.

🕒 How Long Does It Take to Get a Slovenia Business Visa?

Slovenia business visa applications are usually finalized within about 2 weeks before the intended travel date, provided that the application file is complete. However, processing may take longer for foreign nationals residing in Turkey or in cases where additional documents are requested. Applications can be submitted up to 3 months in advance, but it is strongly recommended to apply at least 1 month before the travel date.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Applications submitted in Istanbul are processed through the Hungarian Consulate, which issues a Hungarian visa valid for travel to Slovenia.
  • Applicants residing in regions under the jurisdiction of the Slovenian Embassy in Ankara may be asked to provide a chamber of commerce registration and last 6 months’ bank statements.
  • Applications submitted less than 15 days before the planned travel may not be accepted.
  • If the consulate deems it necessary, applicants may be invited for an interview. The detailed itinerary of your business trip and confirmation that you will return to your country should be included in your application file.
