🇮🇸 Iceland Visa Procedures

Dear Visitor, Welcome.

On this page, you will find detailed information regarding the visa application process for Iceland, including all the necessary documents and procedural steps. As a Schengen Area country, visits to Iceland are categorized according to their duration. Trips of up to 90 days are considered short-term and fall under the Schengen visa framework, while stays exceeding 90 days require national visa procedures. Preparing your application documents accurately and on time in accordance with Consular requirements is essential for a smooth process.

📌 Who Needs an Iceland Visa?

Turkish citizens holding Ordinary (Bordeaux) passports are required to obtain a visa before traveling to Iceland. Holders of Special (Green), Service (Gray), and Diplomatic (Black) passports are exempt from visa requirements for stays not exceeding 90 days within a 180-day period.

📝 How to Obtain an Iceland Visa?

There is no direct Icelandic representation in Turkey. Therefore, visa, residence, work, and citizenship procedures for Iceland are managed by a unit affiliated with the Consulate General of Denmark.

Short-term Iceland visa categories include:

  • Iceland Tourist Visa
  • Iceland Business Visa
  • Iceland Family/Friend Visit Visa

All applicants for an Iceland Schengen visa are required to provide biometric data (fingerprints and photo). Biometric data submitted under the Schengen framework remains valid for up to 5 years. Applicants who have already submitted this within the last 5 years may not need to repeat the process, although the Consulate reserves the right to summon the applicant if deemed necessary.

For visits up to 90 days, the Schengen visa application form must be completed. For stays exceeding 90 days, applicants must fill in the Iceland national (D-type) visa application form.
