In other words, approximately 1 out of every 10 people applying to Schengen countries has their visa application denied.

Why is a Greece Visa Rejected?
Greece visa rejections are issued according to specific standardized grounds accepted by all Schengen countries. These generally include submitting fake or damaged travel documents, insufficient or unverifiable financial resources, existing entry bans, invalid travel health insurance, and doubts that you will leave the Schengen area.
The most common reasons for visa rejection by Greek consulates are items 2-10 and 13. These generally relate to inconsistencies in the reasons for your planned travel, insufficient financial means, inability to prove ties to Turkey, and lack of valid travel reservations. Additionally, not having sufficient travel history may lead consulates to believe that you will not return from the Schengen area.

Actions After a Visa Rejection
If you receive a visa rejection, all Schengen countries, including Greece, do not refund the visa fee. To appeal your visa, you must submit documents that disprove the rejected item along with a detailed appeal letter.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Schengen visa applications dropped sharply. As of March 18, 2020, Greece suspended all visa applications and stated that applications during this period would only be processed if travel plans were scheduled for June 1, 2020, or later. Since Schengen countries did not open their borders during this period, submitting applications was not recommended. However, you can make an appointment based on your travel plans with the relevant application centers or Greek consulates.
