🇦🇹 Austria Visa Application Letter

Dear visitor, welcome to our Austria visa application letter page. On this page, you will find comprehensive information about the visa application letter that must be submitted for all short-term Austria visa applications, including tourist, business, family visit, or other categories.

The visa application letter is one of the most important documents in the application and plays a decisive role in the evaluation carried out by the Austrian Consulate. In the letter, the purpose of travel should be stated clearly and understandably; it must be specified whether the trip is for tourism, business, or visiting purposes. In addition, the travel dates and how the travel expenses will be covered must also be included in the letter. For all Austria visa applications not exceeding 90 days, if the letter is not prepared completely, the likelihood of obtaining visa approval decreases significantly.

📌 How to Write an Austria Visa Letter?

The Austria visa application letter must be prepared in a formal and clear manner that will be accepted by the consulate. The language of the letter must be German or English. Letters written in Turkish will not be accepted without an official translation. If desired, the letter can be prepared in Turkish and then translated into German or English by a sworn translator with notarized approval.

The travel purpose must be clearly stated in the letter. For example, in a tourist trip, the cities to be visited should be mentioned; in a business trip, the details of meetings or fairs; in a family visit visa, the person to be visited and the relationship should be explicitly indicated. Clear expressions that convey the purpose in a single sentence, such as “Travel will take place between 15–20 March 2025 to attend business meetings in Vienna,” should be preferred.

The letter can be prepared digitally or handwritten. However, in both cases, it must bear the applicant’s wet signature. Applicants who have previously obtained a visa from Austria and have given fingerprints within the last three years are not required to be present in person for new applications, but they must still submit their application letter with a wet signature. The letter does not have to be written by the applicant personally; it can also be prepared by Marsel Visa experts. However, it must always be completed with the applicant’s signature.
