🇬🇧 UK ETA Visa
The UK ETA Visa (Electronic Travel Authorization) is a digital travel permit that must be obtained online before traveling to the United Kingdom for short-term tourism, business, or temporary visits. The ETA system has been implemented to enhance the UK’s border security and manage entry-exit procedures more effectively. This system is similar to the ESTA program in the United States and the ETIAS system in the European Union. Applications are submitted exclusively through the official UK government website, and it is recommended to print a copy of the approved permit. An ETA allows stays of up to six months but does not guarantee entry; the final decision is made by UK border control officers.

The ETA application is entirely electronic. Applicants must upload a scanned color copy of their passport’s bio-data page, a recent biometric photo, contact and residential address details, and, if applicable, company details. Two alternative email addresses must also be provided. Applications are generally processed within three working days, though processing times may vary. For group travel, each traveler must submit a separate application.
💰 ETA Visa Fee and Validity
The fee for the UK ETA visa is £16 GBP. The permit is valid for up to two years from the date of approval or until the expiry of the passport used in the application, whichever comes first. Each visit to the UK under an ETA can last up to six months. A fee adjustment is expected as of 9 April 2025.
