U.S. Tourist Visa

All Turkish citizens, regardless of the type of passport they hold (Green, Black, Grey, or Red), must obtain a U.S. tourist visa if they plan to visit the U.S. for tourism or business purposes. Non-immigrant visa types vary depending on the purpose and duration of the trip. Individuals planning to visit the U.S. for short-term tourism, family visits, or medical treatment should apply for the B2 Tourist Visit Visa, while those traveling for business purposes should apply for the B1 Business Visit Visa. In practice, the B1/B2 Tourist and Business Visit Visa is often issued together.

Non-immigrant short-term U.S. visa applications can be made through the U.S. Embassy in Ankara and the U.S. Consulate General in Istanbul. However, before applying for a visa, applicants must fill out the online DS-160 application form in English, schedule an appointment, prepare their documents according to their visa type and personal situation, provide biometric data, and attend the interview. It is crucial to complete all these procedures correctly and on time to ensure a positive visa outcome. For example, incorrect information provided on the form could lead to a visa refusal and prevent future entry to the U.S.
