🇺🇸 🎭 U.S. Q-1 Cultural Exchange Program Visa

The U.S. Q-1 Cultural Exchange Program Visa is a visa type granted to Turkish citizens, allowing them to intern in the U.S., introduce and share their culture, history, and traditions. This visa is designed for applicants who want to experience participating in cultural exchange programs in the U.S. Those granted the Q-1 Visa can stay in the U.S. for a maximum of 15 months. After their program ends, they must leave the U.S. within 30 days. If the individual wishes to apply for another Q-1 Visa under a different cultural exchange program, they must spend one year in another country outside the U.S.

Additionally, applicants must be over 18 years old and familiar with their country's cultural characteristics. Q-1 visa holders’ spouses and children cannot accompany them to the U.S. under the same visa type. If family members wish to travel to the U.S., they must apply for an appropriate visa category.

🇺🇸 📑 Required Documents for the U.S. Q-1 Cultural Exchange Program Visa

The required documents for the U.S. Q-1 Cultural Exchange Program Visa may vary depending on the U.S. embassy or consulate where the application is made. Personal documents required for the application include a passport, biometric photo, DS-160 form, a copy of the national ID, and a detailed family registry document. Additionally, an English-language visa request letter explaining the purpose of the trip is required.

If applying as an employee, documents related to your job, such as an employment certificate, salary slip, and entry into the company report, may also be required. Financial support documents from the U.S. sponsor and their bank statement must also be submitted.

🇺🇸 📝 How to Apply for the U.S. Q-1 Cultural Exchange Program Visa

The application for the U.S. Q-1 Cultural Exchange Program Visa begins with the U.S. sponsoring organization submitting Form I-129 to the USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services). Once approved, the applicant fills out the DS-160 form and applies for a visa at the U.S. consulate.

The application process requires proper document preparation, and a successful interview. During the interview, the applicant may be asked for detailed information regarding their participation in the cultural exchange program and the nature of their work.

🇺🇸 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family Members

The spouses and children of Q-1 visa holders cannot travel to the U.S. under the same visa category. Family members must apply for the appropriate visa category in order to travel to the U.S. Each family member must apply separately under the appropriate visa category.
