📝 E-2 U.S. Investor Visa
The E-2 U.S. Investor Visa allows Turkish citizens, under the trade agreement between Turkey and the United States, to live temporarily in the U.S. by making an investment. This visa allows entrepreneurs to either start a business in the U.S. or invest in an existing business.
📄 What is the E-2 Visa?
The E-2 visa is a temporary resident visa for individuals aiming to start or invest in a business in the U.S. The applicant must own at least 50% of the business and be actively involved in its management. The investment should be sufficient to support the applicant’s livelihood and contribute to the U.S. economy.
📄 Application Process
The application process for the E-2 visa begins with the applicant preparing a detailed business plan for the enterprise they plan to invest in or establish. The business plan must include the investment amount, business activities, market analysis, and job creation potential. The applicant then fills out the DS-160 form from the U.S. Department of State and submits it along with the required documents to the U.S. consulate. If the interview is successful, the immigrant visa is approved. After entering the U.S., the applicant begins using the E-2 visa. The E-2 visa is initially granted for 2 years and can be extended if the conditions are met.
📄 Required Documents
The required documents for the E-2 visa application include a copy of the applicant's passport, biometric photograph, DS-160 form, and I-129S Petition. Additionally, documents related to the business being invested in, the business plan, financial records, and company activity documents are required.
📄 Family Members
The spouse and unmarried children under 21 years old of the E-2 visa holder can join them in the U.S. Family members can stay in the U.S. for the same duration as the primary applicant. The spouse of the E-2 visa holder can apply for work authorization in the U.S., while children can only attend school.
