Citizens of the Republic of Turkey who wish to attend congresses, conferences, cultural or sports events to be held in Spain are required to apply for a Spain Cultural Visa. The most important document for this visa category is the invitation letter to be provided by the institution or organization in Spain that organizes the event. The invitation letter must clearly state the details of the event, include the identity and contact information of the inviting institution, and if the expenses will be covered by a sponsor, the relevant supporting documents should also be added to the file.
The personal documents required for the Spain Cultural / Conference Visa are generally the same for all applicants. However, depending on the applicant’s profession and income status, additional documents may be requested. Employees registered with SGK, company owners, retirees, public sector employees, students, housewives or unemployed individuals must prepare their files with the documents relevant to their situation. 🏝 Required Documents for Spain Cultural / Conference Visa – 2025
The visa application form must be completed fully and signed. For applications in Ankara, the form should be in English or Spanish; Turkish forms are also accepted. Separate forms must be completed for children, and those under the age of 18 must have their forms signed by both parents. The biometric photo must be taken within the last 6 months, with a white background and in compliance with international standards. The passport must have been issued within the last 10 years and be valid for at least 3 months and 15 days after the return date. In addition, a residence certificate, photocopies of ID and passport (including pages with visas) must be included in the file.
For participation in events, the invitation is the most crucial document. An official invitation letter from the organizing institution must be presented. If the organizer is not Spanish, an approval letter stamped and signed by the local Spanish authorities where the event will be held is also required. For cultural events, a contract with the relevant cultural service provider must be attached. For sports participants, an invitation letter, accreditation document from the sports club or federation in Spain, and a valid athlete license must be submitted.

For employed applicants, a company letter is essential. This letter must specify the employee’s position, leave days, travel dates, and whether expenses are covered by the company. Additionally, SGK service statements, payroll slips, Chamber of Commerce registration documents, activity certificate, tax certificate, and signature circular must be included.
For retirees, a retirement card with photo, barcoded retirement certificate, the last 3 months’ pension statement, and if available, bank savings account statements must be submitted. For students, a valid student certificate, a notarized parental consent letter (if under 18 and traveling without parents), and the official invitation letter from the event organizer in Spain are required. Housewives and unemployed applicants must submit a sponsorship letter along with the income and company documents of the sponsor.
For foreign nationals residing in Turkey, a valid residence permit or residence card valid for at least 3 months after the return date must be provided. In addition, all documents, except the application form and passport copies, must be translated into Spanish and notarized.

In Spain Cultural / Conference Visa applications, flight and hotel reservations must be included in the file. The documents must cover all connecting flights and routes in detail. 🕒 Important Notes for Spain Cultural / Conference Visa Applications
Bank account statements must be issued within 8 days prior to the application, must cover the last 3 months, and must be original, stamped, signed, and accompanied by the bank’s signature circular. Newly opened accounts are not accepted. All documents must be in A4 size, must not contain the phrase “Certified True Copy,” and scanned or photocopied versions are not valid. The Spain Consulate reserves the right to request additional documents or the originals of submitted photocopies if deemed necessary.
