🇪🇸 Spain Student Visa Required Documents

Dear Visitor, Welcome.

Turkish citizens who plan to travel to Spain for a short-term language course, internship, or certificate program lasting less than 90 days are required to apply for a Spain Student Visa. Since the Student Visa is granted for stays under 90 days, Schengen Visa procedures apply. The list of documents may vary depending on the type of education program you attend. Requirements differ for students, employees, or academics.

Below you can find the updated list of required documents for the Spain Student Visa in 2025, along with detailed information on the application process. As the documents may vary according to your chosen program, you may contact Marsel Visa specialists to request a personalized list suitable for your case.

🏝 Spain Student Visa Standard Documents – 2025

For Spain Student Visa applications, the Schengen Visa Application Form must be completed in full and signed. For applications made in Ankara, the form should be filled out in English or Spanish; in Istanbul, the bilingual Turkish-Spanish form must be used. For underage applicants, both parents must sign the form.

The passport must be no older than 10 years, valid for at least 3 months and 15 days beyond the end of travel, and contain at least 2 blank pages. Any previous passports must also be presented. A biometric photograph with a white background taken within the last 3 months is required. Copies of the national ID card and all stamped/visa pages of the passport must be attached, along with a residence certificate and an updated student certificate.

Applicants under the age of 18 traveling with only one parent must submit a notarized letter of consent. A document issued by the educational institution in Spain showing the start and end dates of the course as well as the weekly class schedule must be submitted. Proof of payment for tuition, such as a stamped bank receipt or confirmation letter from the school, is required. If staying in a dormitory, a receipt of dormitory payment must be submitted, or if renting a house, a rental contract must be included. Additionally, a stamped and signed bank statement proving sufficient funds for the duration of stay in Spain must be presented.

Applicants participating in EU Erasmus or student exchange programs must present their official acceptance letter.

📌 Documents According to Professional Status

If traveling under an EU education, research, or exchange program, the applicant must submit the original invitation letter from the university or research institution, along with a support letter from the Turkish National Agency or TÜBİTAK confirming sponsorship within an EU program.

If the applicant is a teacher or academic, an employment letter from the institution, a leave approval document, SGK entry statement, service record, the last 3 months’ payslips, and company documents (certificate of activity, chamber of commerce registration, tax certificate, and official gazette copy) must be submitted.

📝 Required Documents if Sponsored

Only parents or spouses may act as sponsors for students. Sponsorship by other relatives such as uncles, aunts, or fiancés is not accepted.

Documents required from the sponsor:

  • Petition confirming sponsorship of expenses
  • Workplace documents (certificate of activity, tax certificate, signature circular, chamber of commerce registration)
  • SGK service record and employment entry statement
  • Bank account statement
  • Family registration certificate

If the sponsor is the spouse, additional documents are required: marriage certificate, payslips, SGK documents, bank account statement, and financial documents proving assets (property deed, vehicle license, etc.).

📌 Our Additional Services

🕒 How Long Does the Spain Student Visa Take?

Once the documents are complete, an appointment will be scheduled for biometric fingerprint collection, and the applicant will be guided through the process. The consulate may request additional documents or call the applicant for an interview if deemed necessary.
